Smile Hi everyone!

Hiya!

Sorry if there is another area for newbie posts, just thought I'd say hello as I've had a look at the forums and it all looked pretty freindly with some useful information on here too.
I'm 27, just bought a Mini One (due to my insurance costs doing a sudden rise and moving into a new flat) I used to drive a 1998 Impreza Turbo 2000 but the Mini is a damned fine car I've gotta say, although a little slower
Had a look around and I think I'm gonna try and do some Lohen tuning, maybe going for an LO2 and LS1 package with some direct replacement grooved and pitted discs, sounded like it will give it the extra poke that I need, plus rather than buying a Cooper, putting the cash towards making my One as good if not better than a Cooper seemed like a decent idea so I'm a darned happy chappy. Used to only like the classic minis but over the years the new models have really grown on me and after being in a mates Cooper I was fully swayed to what some would call the dark side.

Look forward to chatting with you all

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for the welcome
Haven't got any pics at the mo but I'll pop some up at some point soon. It's a fairly old model, 2002, in red with what I believe is the salt pack (although I'm not overly sure whats what in these packs) got the rev counter, air con and 15" alloys on there but I plan to personalise it a bit more over time, looks wise. First I'm gonna sort the performance
Oh yeah forgot to say, I've also popped in an Alpine headunit with iPod conversion in there as I already had the stereo before and the Mini's stereo was poo

Welcome Tom! Ah, the joys of tuning. I think that the Mrs. is going to ban me from doing any further mods for the time being.

Lohen is a great choice. Welcome and if there is anything we can help with, please let us know.

Yeah, I was gonna go completely bonkers and try and get the car specced up to the same bhp as a MCS but I managed to stop myself before my credit card exploded in fear

Thanks again for the lovely welcome everyone, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, lol

I wondered what that pain in my leg was. (Credit Card Shrapnel)

Folks around here are very friendly. You will be surprised what you can do with that car. I know guys here in Germany that drive Coopers and they are pretty quick. ECU is a good start.

Lohan won't steer you wrong.

pmsl @credit card shrapnel

Glad I made the right choice in tuner with Lohen, I'm so excited I can't wiat to get all the stuff done.

Them Germans are mad about their motors though, took the Subaru to the Nurburgring and some of the cars they had were nuts! The Mini should be a great car round that track, saw some highly tuned classics going round there and nothing bar the M5 driven by Sabine (she took me for a spin round the track, amazing driver) could beat them.

Any of you guys taken your Mini to the 'ring?

That was where the Mrs. put her foot down, but if you have ever been on a German MINI run there is not much difference!

I have been on the Hockenheim ring but that was it. Those Germans are pretty crazy but pretty skilled drivers.
