England Third times the charm and my third cars a Cooper!

Hello to everyone!!

im a newbie so i would just like to introduce myself and say how suprised and pleased i am to find such an open and useful community online!

I am just about (hope im not jinxing it) to buy a 2002 silver mini cooper with the chilli pack.

Hopefully by friday it will be in my lil mits depending how fast the loan company sort their end out. I am already excited, but after finding these forums and all this useful information i am even more excited!! I feel like a kid again and its christmas eve!!

Hopefully i can find the money over the next few months to get everything off my wish list and onto my cooper. So far on the list i have everything from 4 spot lights for the front to a grey union jack for the roof. But im sure after digging through the forums the list will grow tenfold!!!!!

Im also wondering what else i shud expect from my cooper. I have of course heard about the outstanding handling but its abit vague. Please can anyone else fill me in and give me a few hints and tips of what to expect!!!

Thanks

Matt

(Telford, Shropshire) - dnt hold it against me!

Hi mate and welcome aboard! Hope everything goes ok and you get your cooper as you'll never look back!

Can't comment much on the cooper as I have an S, but if you need any help sticking 4 spot lights on the front I can definitely help there!

Yeah thanks!

The spots are damn near the top of my list. If you dont mind me asking how much did that set you back?

I havnt really seen any kits for the four spots so im assuming that you just have to be two double sets. Am i right cos there must me a cheaper option!!! - i hope

well dealers will no longer fit 4 spots on your car, or there not supposed too
apparently Mini say that four block air flow into the engine causing overheating issues etc (i think i'm right in saying thats what problem was caused)
Although if you do it yourself I see no reason why you shouldnt be able to buy two sets of lamps. If you notice its usually the pre-facelift cars with four spots (like yours could have had four fitted when it was made)
good luck and you'll love it

Enjoy your new baby. I'm sure if you do pick it up on Friday you won't spend much time outside of the car :-P

Let us know what your new Cooper will be called!

Ah yeah, a name!

I was pulling my hair out abit last night and i have come up with Dexter. Purely because the reg plate is DX so Dex, or the proper name, Dexter.

Its top of the list so far neways!

Better than the alternative if im going by the reg, because the last letters are "YOP" so im not loving that so much!!!
