Service Intervals

Hey guys quick question...

I live in Guam and I bought my MINI in Hawaii. I asked the local BMW dealer here if they cover service intervals and they said NO. They said that the MINI has to be special ordered from them to cover the service intervals. Can they actually do that?

The don't usually stock MINIs here in Guam.

Do ALL MINI dealers cover the service intervals even though it wasn't purchased from the same dealer?

Thanks in advance.

United-States

MINI and BMW dealers are seperate -- even though they are in the same building sometimes. So I guess the anwer is NO they don't have to honor the MINI warranty or service -- they can make you go to the nearest MINI dealer ( ?? )

However I would call BMW - MINI ( the # should be in your owners manual ) and explain the situation -- you might get lucky.

Good luck

^^

They cover the warranty but not the service intervals. They also told me that they are the authorized dealer for the MINIs here on Guam.

The TLC pack is purchased with a new MINI and covers a certain number of years/miles oil changes, services etc. These are then sold with the car if still valid.

Purchased separately at a very good price. It is in the form of a booklet with tear out vouchers. Would probably be in with your handbook etc.

No such thing as TLC in the US market ...

MINIs come with free 3 year / 36,000 maintenance.

So not only are your cars cheaper, but the servicing is free?

Is it any wonder the UK is referred to as 'Rip-Off Britain'?

The cost of the TLC package is almost negligible in comparison with the cost of the car new - so servicing is almost free. Don't forget in the UK the warranty is not limited to some stupidly low mileage like 36,000/3 years too.

Well, that more than makes up for the thousands of pounds more we pay for our cars then!
