A thread to let it all out...

This is a thread for anyone who needs to open the emotional flodgates about a Mini they have just sold, written off, had stolen or even just bought.

Have you just upgraded or traded yours in for a 56 to find that you miss your 05?

Let it all out here.....

My story:

Had to tell someone. It has been playing on my mind for months.....
Back in March 2006 I moved from rural Herefordshire with its winding roads to central London. The one problem was I had to leave my Hyper Blue 05 MCS - called Jeff - in the hands of my mother.

Regular visits home have allowed me to stay in touch with Jeff but small touches like Katie Melua CDs, Specsaver driving glasses and a Versace unbrella just remind me that Jeff is being cared for by someone else now and has probably forgotten me altogether.

Last weekend I returned home to be (albeit briefly) reunited with Jeff. Mother suggested trading Jeff in for a newer model. Possibly something a little less powerful. I thought 'yeah, great - a new mini'.
Then I took Jeff for a spin on the twisty bendy up and down lanes. No radio. Just Jeff's supercharger purring away at me.

I have now decided to move back to the country and look forward to August when Jeff and I will once again be inseparable.

You may think I'm a total loon but I know some of you out there feel the same about your Minis.

Happy Minimotoring.

Thanks everyone.... Should be working but have been unable to draw myself away from Mini2 re acquainting myself with Mini life.

Richard: Awesome. Just outside Leominster on a farm on the old Leominster-Hereford road. Plate ending BTA and uni-jack wing mirros so look out for Jeff.
What are you driving?

I know. I just used that random picture because I liked it.....
Only kidding.
That picture is from the day I got it - before I put my own plate on it. BTA being my initials......

I don't really have any specific stories, but generally speaking my MINI puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Even during city driving, where you are likely to get caught up in traffic, the whole MINI experience makes it worthwhile. A particular favourite place to drive my MINI is on the B roads heading back to my parents house in Lincolnshire - those twists and turns coupled with the national speed limit gives me a chance to really open her up.

Thought I would add my MINI Experience Story to the thread:

I drive around 600miles per week. Just under 500 of these are spent with just me and my MINI (2002 IB/B MC). No passengers. Just us and the road My MINI (Still yet to be named) keeps me company with her radio (i say "her" so i guess I have decided on gender hehe) and keeps me warm with her heaters

After many miles she has never let me down. Always starts and always performs When I purchased her i treated her to a full paint restoration, deswirl and protection. I give her a weekly wash (using only the best in detailing products) and top up her wax when she needs it

At weekends I take her out on nice country runs when I can and let her feel the wind in her grills She loves it!

I also make sure she is tucked up well in her bedroom everynight. She has a spacious double garage with secure locks! Have to be honest... I have seen the jelousy from other MINI's

When the time comes to sell and move on I really dont know what I will do. I will definitely be staying with the MINI family and buying another, but the thought of getting trading her in or seling her on is so sad But the hard thing is I know it has to be done!

Until then I will continue to spend a lot of time with her and treat her well Hopefully she will do the same to me

(I really am sad arent I? haha)

Good work Killerbyte and Burns. Let it all out. Burns, I'm I'm sure you can feel my pain then when I go home to see my mother has been driving too close to kurbs/hedges....

Don't worry about being sad. I pretend to be quite cool by day but this is a special place to get it all off your chest.

I've been drinking too much.... I know. On a school night.

I live just the other side of Tenbury Wells in a place called Knighton-On-Teme. I used to drive the old Leominster/Hereford road a lot. I still go that way every now and then so I'll keep my eyes open. Get on that site I told you about and maybe one or 2 of the events that are heading towards you might join into your calender nice and snugly...theres a Rolling Road in Tewkesbury on the 3rd March ... Be a good day to go, I went last year (I'm in Guildford doing the TopGear run though )

I drive a 2002 52 plated Dark Silver and Black Cooper S. Its got black scoop, black wheels, black roof, black aero grills, black tail lights, black side lights and some black decals. Its low to the ground and pretty loud TBH you can't miss that its me as I have not seen anouther S that looks anything like it Plate ends in XDM

I'm joined up to miniaddiction.co.uk now....

Yeah - I've seen you around. Pretty sure you flashed me once (with your lights). Would defo be interested in some runs around rolling English countryside.

Need to look into getting some spots and other bits for Jeff when I get back. May even take him somewhere for a full on valet (I usually do it myself but my dad got in Jeff covered in red diesel and Jeff now stinks). Can you recommend anywhere that will do a full inside and out job and touch up all the paint chips?

Head back up for the weekend every now and then. Will try to time it when there's something on...

Cath you later.

Ben

I'd get your Dad to pay for the valet! At least for the interior clean anyway
