Offline | Hiring a MINI whilst in UK I'll be stopping in the UK May 20-23 and would like to hire a MINI for the duration. Can anyone direct me to an agency that rents MINIs? Cheers, Sid ![]() |

| Home Alone | Generally, when hiring a car in the UK, you can't specify a model of car but only a size; so the big names (Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo etc) are probably a waste of time. A friend from Buffalo hired a MINI Convertible from these guys last summer and was happy with them. |

Offline | I've used Guy Salmon Luxury executive car hire in the past. They're located near all major UK airports. Global Moderator ![]() |

![]() Kerb Magnet | I second that. My insurance company provided me with a hire car from Guy Salmon while mine was in the garage being repaired after I was rear-ended in December. I drive a MINI Cooper normally and they provided me with a Cooper S. Couldn't fault the service so I have no hesitation recommending them. |

Offline | Both Avis and National/Alamo rent Mini's, however they are considerd a 'specialist' vehicle, so need arranging much in advance to ensure they can get one to your location. However you will prob have less problem with LHR than other airports etc! Incidently the going rate last time I looked was £80 per day for a MCS from National/Alamo |

![]() Nervous.. | why don't you ring a local dealer to give you a quote for the few days that you are here... I know that Derek Woodmans MINI hire rental rates are quite competitive... £65.00 per day for Rental of an R56 Cooper. That price is inclusive of VAT. I know its quite far away from London but, it might be worth a phone call to a dealer down there ![]() |

Offline | Wow! Thanks all for the tips. I have started to followup and concur that the going rate seems to be GBP 80/day. I'll try the big guys next, but their level of service and availablity can't compare with the specialists. I plan to tour the Oxford plant and run down to East Preston to see the lads at JCW Motorsports. |
