![]() :: 32mpg woo! :: | I've owned both too, but the 1st generation is my favourite, hence me selling my R56. The only reason I say that is that it just goes to show that this thread could go on foreverrrrr Each to thier own I say! As long as its got a MINI/Mini badge on I'll still like it ![]() |

Offline | I'm very surprised by some of the comments posted...... This youtube video explains pretty much my sentiment and feeling when it comes to my R56 The R56 is a great car... my video i can certainly say from past experience of having the R53 MCS JCW I don't miss.... 1,Petrol Consumption 20 MPG 2,Clunky gear box 3,Crap brakes Having said that though I do miss my old R53, it certainly had charm, but like Mini's of old and new you've got to move with the times old Mini's had re-vamps over the decades and I'm sure that even back then the old school die hards would say they didn't like the new one. Offline | As we're comparing generations, I find the 2nd gen Boost is far poorer than the first. No idea why. But then again, I did like the Hi-Fi upgrade option, and some people bemoan that too! Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | Why come into a thread called "he BIG new MINI v's old MINI comparison thread - AKA R56 is ugly, my R56 review" if it doesn't interest you? I mean, do you see a sign outside a hotel saying "crochet conference here today", and walk in to the conference room just to tell everyone you think they're dull and should get a proper hobby, then walk out again? ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Offline | Great video. Nice white one, but the monkey has a point. Just agree to disagree. If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | I've owned one R56, and driven plenty, as well as a few R55s, and of course I've had (too) many first gens and spent a lot of time driving other peoples. I would still rather have ANY of them over any other car in the same price and size range. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | Well i'm still neutral in this conflict... After all, I'm still a true dubber that have nothing to do with the mini world... But I have to say... The r56 is making me leave vortex to mini2 ![]() |
