Car Rental for 20 Year Old

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but i need to hire a car in the summer as i am the driver for a team doing the 3 peaks challenge and sadly my mini isnt big enough (there will be 5 people including me). I have been looking on hertz etc. and you have to be at least 23/25 and i will be 20!! Does anyone know of anywhere that would let me hire a car??

Cheers

Dan

Could you have a parent put you on their car for a week or so? A lot of insurance companies will allow you on a policy as a named driver for a short period of time.

None of the mainstream companies will rent to anyone under 21 (National/CCL) most of the others won't rent til 23, Hertz not til 25 as you have already found! Your best bet might be to look at the smaller local companies and see if one would be willing to lend to you.

Book your MINI in at the stealer for some warranty work or servicing and try and blag a non-MINI courtesy car?
Only a semi-serious suggestion but the more I think about it the more I think it could work!

Some rental companies rent to under 21s if they are from abroad and normally at airport locations. Again some rental companies may allow you to drive if you provide your own insurance. google "day cover" or "short term car insurance".

Enterprise rented to me a few years ago when I was 22. Buy a cheap car a few days before hand(couple of hundred pounds), arrange insurance cover, sell the car straight away afterwards and makesure you make enough profit on selling the car to cover any costs of cancelling the insurance policy.
