Offline | World Press Photo Award A kind of dubious distinction, I think, but a Red MINI Convertible is in the World Press Photo Award: Spencer Platt Wins World Press Photo Award - - PopPhotoFebruary 2007 Wonder if they're on MINI2. Offline | ah thts a pretty cool photo. hey Vanwall i see your from one of my favorite places in the world..... Go Padres!!! lol. Went out there in the Summer of 2005 on my 16th to see my ex gf who had to move back to the states with her parents, what an amazing city though, from a british perspective it was insane how all the 16+ year old kids cross that border into TJ. Even now I think how dangerous it was over there especially as drunk as we were. Anyways.............. I think the reason this photo won is because of the Mini!!! ![]() |

Offline | Yeah, I hadda pick my two cousins up at border after a little traffic incident in TJ last fall - one of 'em spent 3 days in the TJ jail, and the other had no shoes and slept on the street for a nite - their car was seized until they coughed up a bribe, and all their clothes were in it. All because they wanted to have a wild time on the youngest's 18th birthday - they're cracking down, down there, and the swabbies and jarheads are advised to stay this side of the border. It's better when you get south of TJ into real Mexico. Glad ya had fun here! BCNU, Rob in Dago ![]() Brooksie, the 2002 BRG & W Cooper, lets me sit in the drivers seat sometimes. |

Offline | Don't understand how that photo won though, reading their reasoning it seems it won because people (may) find it hard to believe that there's people with money and new cars going about everyday life in what is seen largely as a "War Zone" in the Middle East? ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Offline | That's what I came up with, Paul - I guess the contrast between the haves and the newly have-nots was especially glaring, with one of the ladies holding a hanky over her nose while they gawked, plus a bright red car is always good in news shot.
