Rear Wiper Availability

Hi Guys

Anyone else had problems getting replacment rear wipers?

Just visited my local dealers to be told that they are on back order and have been for 6 weeks now.

Has anyone any ideas if I can use an aftermarket part as tried the front wipers before from Halfords and threw them away due themnot working

Ideas please!

Thanks

Hi,
Had the same problem last week - could not find any after market wipers for the rear, so went to the dealers to request a replacement and they said it would be approx six weeks before they could get them in, however they would have the blade inserts in within a couple of days. So I went back a couple of days later and purchased a new blade - cost £2.41 and fitted it myself - about 30 seconds work. Works fine . If your wiper blade carrier is not damaged you can do the same.

Not possible It certainly is. I replaced the insert in my 03 Cooper with a part from the dealer. Sorry, don't have the part code. I just went to the parts dept. and asked for a re-fill for the rear blade carrier. No prob. Maybe your dealer is trying to shim a few extra coins out of you

It seems the "Geezer" was not telling Porky Pies after all

My Car is a 06 Model and this part is only applicable up to 04.

Any Other Ideas?

if you go to halfords & buy any front wiper suitable for a BMW they have the same profile as the mini rear blade. simply cut the rubber to length & replace, re-using the metal strips from the old one.

one front wiper makes 3 or 4 rears which should last a couple of years.
