Windscreen wipers

Hi,

Can anyone recommend any decent wipers for the mcs, the ones i have on there at the moment are extremely poor, they dont clear anything off the window and when doing above 70 they bounce and vibrate across the screen leaving it worse than it was

Cheers,

Gaz.........

Get rain-x on the screen, then throw the wipers away altogether! well its not quite that good buy in my Cooper S today at 70mph and pooring rain the rain-x kept the windscreen clear without the wipers on. Try it, definitely worth while.

Not sure where you got them but i found the Halfords wipers are useless. Chucked um and got a set of official mini ones from my local dealer. These work just fine.

I agree!!

Rain-X works really well. I've been using it on my mini for 6 months now. Its not so good in the misty rain tho.
Also found Bosch wipers to be good.

Yeah the Bosch wipers from Halfords are better than the standard MINI ones albeit a lot more expensive.

You must make sure you fit a spoilered wiper to the drivers side otherwise the wiper will lift from the screen at high speed. This may be what you are experiencing.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Cheers for the help guys,
I paid a visit to halfarts and bought some rain-X foam window cleaner and rain-X reppellent ( it was a special offer pack) and some new bosch super something or rather wipers so hopefully that will be better, although when i measured the passenger wiper i notice a 7" crack along the bottom of the windscreen

Rain-x is great. The faster you go the cleaner your window but try not to use you wipers as they tend to judder after a while unless you keep applying rain-x.

Another vote for Rain-X ... not that we're getting much rain in Australia at the moment.

In general I find the wipers on the MINI a bit less than ideal. They're just a bit crude I reckon.
