| Home Alone | Looks like a Trader or Independent Garage selling this one. He's also got feedback so highly unlikely to be a scammer because they never complete the transaction through eBay. My guess is he forgot to set a reserve and the bids haven't got very high yet, but as the auction doesn't finish until Sunday they'll probably get higher! |

| Home Alone | I'm actually quite disappointed in you Mr Tigger, I thought you would actually look at the listing in a similar way to me, but obviously not! You are indeed correct that it is unlikely anyone would believe they could pick up a Cooper S for £5,900, but that was the highest bid at the time you looked at the listing (currently £6,100) not the price stated by the seller. As most people who bid on eBay watch the item until the last minute and then try to jump in with a low winning bid I am willing to wager that by about 21:30 on Sunday the highest bid will be considerably more. The registration number of this car is something like CO03 PER (although not that one in particular, as that is on a Dark Silver Cooper S somewhere) so claiming it says 'Cooper' is no more worthy of ridicule than a lot of the members on here who have similar plates, surely? Purple Contracts Ltd (the Seller) are a Contract Hire company based in Barry, so is it entirely unreasonable that they would sell used cars to? People have paid this, and more for an Aero Kit, so why do you believe a non-MINI dealer is being unreasonable in believing this is what it cost? Not everyone is as much of an expert on MINI Accessory pricing as you! |

| Home Alone | This is a really common type of competition that dealers use a lot, and is basically a raffle. At £25 per 'ticket' they only need to sell 680 to cover the cost of a £17,000 car, any more and they make a profit. Many years ago my dad won a Porsche 928 S4 in exactly this type of offer. Not bad for a £100 investment! |

Offline | Very sorry to hear that Mr Scrogg ![]() I guess I must be feeling very cautious at the moment. Assuming that this is genuine, then it may well tie in with this site: Specialists In Contract Hire & Leasing... The address is certainly similar enough. I could have been wrong and I'm withdrawing my first post. Tigger. ![]() Unintimated and I'm back!! ![]() For sunshine, fun and Cornish Pasties: New MINI Kernow Cornish Oggy Run 2009! |

| Home Alone | The listing for the Electric Blue Cooper S has just been updated with a 'Buy It Now' price of £11,500 and a mobile number for Steve at Purple Contracts, so I'm guessing he may have had a few questions about it being a possible scam? What, me? Never! ![]() |

| Home Alone | Just spotted Doesn't have any of the usual tell-tale signs that the scams usually do (asking for e-mail addresses etc) but it does look very cheap for a Classified Ad and is a new advertiser again. Does anyone recognise the car from AutoTrader, PistonHeads etc? |
