Offline | AAARRRGGGHHH!!! After a failed attempt when I travelled over to my parents last weekend of fitting my cooper s sideskirts because of rain, my dad has travelled over (scarborough to leeds) today to fit them. I bought all the right clips - checked the invoice against the "DIY" section on here to make sure I had all the correct ones........ but oh dear - when we've come to fit them and we're half way through the job, the muppet who served me hasn't given me enough clips!!!!! I've payed for the right amount, but he aint given me them!! Yes, I know I should have checked them, but you expect a certain amount of competence from someone working behind the counter in a bmw service dept!! ~Anyway - obviously the service depts are closed now as it's sat afternoon - have rung and checked, but spoke to SANDAL in Wakefield and explained to them and that I've now got one skirt off with no way of refitting it cos the clips aren't re-usable and a very disgruntled father!! The very nice lady said there was nothing she could do, but she has put a note on the computer for them to ring me monday morning. I think that I should ask them to fit the skirts for me without charge on monday afternoon - wot do you think I should say when they phone me? Advice neede!! :-) ![]() ![]() ALTHOUGH SHE NEEDS A BIT OF GUIDANCE, LESLEY WILL BE MY BIATCH FOR NOW...! ![]() ![]() Last edited by LMB : Mar 12th, 2007 at 05:30 PM. Reason: Amend thread title |

Offline | Yes you should ask them to fit the remaining skirt. If the original is off then it won't take them 5 minutes to fit the new one. Least they can do in my opinion. They will however take the stance of "prove we didn't give you enough" I'm sure. Good luck. |

Offline | I'd go with Humph on that, ask them if they could do it while you're there, for free. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | I'll sooooo be opening my can of whoop ass on them when they ring - I'm definitely going for them fitting the skirts while I'm there - it should only take em half an hour - if that!! The jobs already half done for them!! I really hope they'll do the decent thing - if not I'll be naming and shaming!! | my ponies have escaped!!! | As your the customer, it usually is the case that they are always right or at least thats what we would like to believe. BMW Parts and Service in my experience are hopeless. Even with a computer in front of them they argued with me that the Chrome grille could not be fitted aftermarket to an R53 !!!! lol I had to explain the screen and part numbers to him - oh dear. Anyway, take your car and your father to BMW and let him do the talking .....senior citizen always comes across better say that a) you are disappointed with the service and b) it has caused you a great deal of inconvenience.Any respectable garage should supply the parts and fit it for free but this is BMW so the odds are against you. At the very least they should, without charge supply you with the correct amount of parts, if they dont then ask to speak to the area manager or whatever they are called, if they dont assist then write a letter. You should be ok but be prepared for more stupidity ![]() m o n k e y : n u t s |
