Thumbs up 4x4

Nice !

i drove a 4x4 pickup, the one they had on top gear. rented it for a month. boy o boy was that bouncy and sloppy. pretty cool though doing 25mph and holding up all the traffic. i could park it anywhere, drive it anywhere, and leave it unlocked. it was great for carrying stuff in too (no **** sherlock!!) and it was good fun. didn't have to wash it, keep it tidy or service it. but wow how solid the MINI felt after that, but it was hard getting used to parking it carefully, and swerving kerbs etc. *SMILE*

I think all cars are great fun, and the rovers and MG's - well they are especially fun for driving into walls and off tall hills !!!

Cheers,
K.

Ok time to come clean... I may have just ordered a new shape L200 as company car. Tax breaks and practicality won me over. Have only driven the old one and hated it but am told the new one is "considerably" better... Gulp!

I am keeping the MINI for a little while longer but could cry right now, spent the evening shampooing, cleaning and polsihing... really really going to miss her.

Might have to cancel it...... (P.s Sorry for hi-jack.. I feel a new thread coming on)

but now thats sold ive been borrowing my friends punto. my dear lord!!!!!!!!! it was worse than the astra!!!!!! its got no power, i feel too high, the stearing is horrid, the gearbox is the worst.

roll on monday, when i get my new coop!!! only 3 more sleeps to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That raises an interesting point.. whatever car I drive the seats always feel far too high and upright. There is something awfully comfortable about cruising in the Mini... it may not be the smoothest drive (especially for us lot still on run flats) but it takes some beating!

I had to drive a Corsa with one of the Easytronic gearboxes - I nearly died several times pulling out of junctions cos the acceleration was so bad, in a normal car it woulda been fine!

I get this feeling whenever I drive my Mum's Clio - used to love it before I got the MINI, but now the steering posotion is awful (you sit twisted to the left) and I am not really sure if the steering wheel is actually connected properly ot the wheels, or the gearlever to the gearbox, as both as so wooly. Getting back in to my MINI is a bit of a shock, as everything is so sharp and precise!

The worst car I have ever driven has to be a Zafira 1.9 D, without a turbo - truly awful car. Also was the courtesy car when my MINI got taken away on the back of a low loader. It was going to be a Daewoo Matiz cos I was under 25, but I played hell with 'em, and said that the least I should have was a car of similar value....
