Last night we were on a Factory Tour when they told us that they had just built the one millionth MINI

It's a Pepper White R56, and I'm sure we'll be reading about it in the papers soon

Unfortunately we didn't see it, it had come off the line by the time we got there.

I'm pretty sure they said that the millionth one was a 'special' car and they'd be hanging onto it, and I think they said it had a green roof, which sounds odd, but we'll have to wait and see

We spotted the side panel for a traveller while we were going round, not sure we were supposed to see it, but it was definately longer than a normal MINI - when someone asked the guide what it was he said he didn't know

Interesting the car is left hand drive.

For those of you that may not remember, the 500,000th MINI was built in 2005 and went to a customer in California. It was a '05 Dark Silver/Black MCS with 17"Webspokes, xenons, exterior chrome pack and black bonnet stripes. MINIUSA flew the new owner to plant Oxford to take delivery of his new car. What a lucky guy. I wonder if he still has the car.
