| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | I find most people in any car leave the standard tax disc holder in as they can't be bothered to change it. The Richbrook ones are the best but can be fiddly come disc change time. I think the best position for them is one the dash in the corner rather than on the window and due to the curvature of the edges of the MINI windscreen they are hard to fit. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | Had my windscreen replaced and it was to unsticky to go back on the new one so got one of the aluminium ones in the same colour as my car. The main thing I find crap about them is that they dont stick on the windcreen very well with those pads and you have to replace the pads everytime you want to change your tax disc otherwise it falls off . So I just slot it in the gap between the dash and winscreen ![]() I have no reason to do free advertising for Roland but the GTT one does look like a bloomin good idea ![]() ![]() |

![]() Hacked the IBUS | I use to like the Richbrook ones, as Root Ginger said, can be fiddly to change the disc, especially when you drop one of the screws down the dash like I did. I know prefer to have a MINI/Dealer holder in, as more original. If the dealer mentioned on the holder pee me off though I will change it! ![]() Also I never keep the dealer sticker in the rear window, as I think it spoils the look, and free advertising which we don't get anything back for! |

Offline | I have a 99p black, plain tax disk holder from Tesco (or Halfords, can't remember now), and it's the best I've have. Had a Richbrook years ago and thought it was dreadful. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

| MINI2 on order! | you don't need to take the whole holder off to change them. Just unscrew the back plate off leaving the front part still sticking to the window and u can take the tax disc out still. I find to make it a tad easier when fitting stick the tax disc down to the backing plate with some pritt stick in the right position. then when you screw the back plate back on you don't have to worry about the tax disc moving around/falling down |

Offline | Tried that initially with any film/debris on the inside of the windscreen wiped off they still come unstuck and getting in at a slightly awkward angle to take the screws out only to lead to a very high chance of them falling down the dashborad. They are a good idea but the window sticking bit spoils it really, when you look at the little clear sticky tabs from the outside it looks bodged and unsightly, think the way I have it now is at its best - minus the sticky tabs and being able to take it in the house and change discs without losing the screws. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | The MINI Tax holder (Standard) was just as important as my bonnet stripes ![]() Always found the MINI Standard Tax Disk holder was another unique thing to the MINI Brand, so i never bothered with the richbrook ones. Its one of them things i always noticed on MINIs before i owned one ![]() However my last car had the Sporty Silver Richbrook one, but it fell off sometimes and it was a joke trying to get the back off to change the tax disc. Wasnt worth the money, apart from the look of course. Sig Coming Soon.. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | You guys having trouble with the Richbrook tax disc holders are obviously not following the fitting instructions. Mine was on my Cooper Works for 5 years and never fell off. You have to warm the windscreen up with the heater before applying the pads or the glue will not cure properly. This will lead to them falling off. You also have to push the holder firmly on the window and hold it for a while. I can't remember how long it was now but it was certainly a few minutes. The only trouble I had was the bit of clear plastic turned yellow in the sun. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | I followed the instructions to the letter, several times over, and after a while I gave up. I wasn't overly keen on the way it looked anyway to be honest so went "stealth" instead of showy. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Strange, maybe they changed the sticky pads or something? I even restuck my second one for my work pass after an MOT tester removed it and that never fell off My new one is stuck on the dashboard now. Makes changing discs easy and means your windscreen is totally clear ![]() ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | Just go and buy a new pack of sticky pads. If your taking the tax disc out to reclaim some money back, it wont need a holder left with the car, or just simply take the tax disc out anyway and hand it to the dealer... ![]() |
