Offline | i feel this is a decision i alone can not make as the rules were laid out from the start However i belive your plee should be put to the vote, so i urge all members to PM me with a simple yes or no vote an i will let you know. if you put the mirror caps on all the time i think this would help your cause . ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Ok i feel that it would be unfair not to let CABRIO owner not join the club, so i propose that if they wish to join these simple rules be applied: interior mirror cover and wing mirror covers be on the mini at all times and they be given an additional letter in there number: so Max Stetson GBC022 welcome again pass the word please to all other cabrio owners |

| "Just Like That!" | Errrm, I don't want to put a spoiler on this (although there are a couple on my car!), but isn't it technically incorrect to call this "collective" the "Union Jack Owners Club"? Isn't the general thinking that the flag is actually called the "Union Flag"? "Union Jack" being the name given to a Union Flag being flown from a ship? ![]() UJ Club: GB064 |

Offline | ![]() ![]() ![]() You are partly correct but I beleive it was made an act of Parliment that it may be refeferred toas the Union Jack. The issue of whether it is acceptable to use the term "Union Jack" is one that used to cause considerable controversy. It is often asserted that "Union Jack" should only be used for the flag when it is flown as a jack (a small flag flown at the bow of a ship), but it is not universally accepted that the "Jack" of "Union Jack" is a reference to such a jack flag and other explanations have been put forward.[1] The Flag Institute, the vexillological organisation for the United Kingdom, asserts that this is not the case and is a "relatively recent idea". It also states "the Admiralty itself frequently referred to the flag as the Union Jack, whatever its use, and in 1902 an Admiralty Circular announced that Their Lordships had decided that either [the Union Jack or the Union Flag] name could be used officially. Such use was given Parliamentary approval in 1908 when it was stated that "the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag" ".[2] |
