New mcs owner looking for guidance

Hey guys my name is steve and I live in the california bay area. I just sold my evo 8 and picked up a 02 mini cooper s. Talk about a huge difference, the evo makes the mini feel like a 3 cyl geo metro. So I think Im going to start by trying to get a bit more power out of it, and then its off to suspension mods. Anything you guys would suggest for a newb mini owner? Other then searching of course.

The first few MOD's most MCS owners go for is

15% Pulley
CAI
Exhaust
Manifold
Remap

Thats basiclally what ive got with a few other things, theres many companys out there that cater for the MCS so a bit of googling or if needed i can post links up! Thats a big change and i would say for the best in getting a MINI but a bad idea for the power difference!

It already has a cai and I was actually thinking I would go with a 17% and the invidia exhaust next.

Depending on your level of adventurous-ness, you may wish to stick with a 15% pulley. I've heard that reliability goes down as you go up to 17 and 19%.

FWIW, the JCW pulley is approximately 15%.

Ive gone with a 15% pulley and a 2% oversized lightend crank pulley! That equals to a 17% pulley in a more reliable and better combo!

ive heard that the 17% has worse reliability but ive not heard any stone proof eveidence even with the 19% pulley ive not heard of any bad cases!

yeah I looked around a bit and found a lot of people running the 17% and none of them seem to have reported any problems so I think I will just go with the 17 cause I would hate to spend the money on a 15 and end up getting the 17 down the road anyways. I would really like to do the 19 but I just dont see CA gas being able to support that kind of boost.
