Just a quick query in preparation for my maiden voyage tonight...is it still a requirement to flash other Mini's on the road that are travelling in the opposite direction to you?!

When I last had my Mini 14 years ago, it was the norm...but I've grown up a bit since then!

I'd call it a requirement. Although I always wave rather than flash. You won't always get a response though

Wave and flash away! Some won't wave or flash back but its worth it when someone does it back to you! Keep the MINI etiquette alive

Totally agree there! It is worth it when someone waves / flashes back! In an instant you know they know what you know and you they know it too.

Its only an instant, not as good as sex, but its there and I like it!

i do it....was a great trip back from the gym last night-got 4 waves....must have been the sunshine!! :-)

wave/flash anyway...people that dont-just dont get the whole MINI THING...and shouldnt own one imo!

Owning a MINI is all about being fun, friendly and spontaneous (or so the marketing would have me believe

) If people can't even be bothered to wave back it's pretty clear they don't get it.

No pink on my Mini, although now you mention it, I might get a pink air freshner!

So, flashing is still cool then? You have to be careful though, as a friend of mine flashed an oncoming mini once, but someone else who was waiting to come out of their drive thought my friend was flashing them to let them come on to the carriageway....needless to say there was one written off mini and broken ankle that followed!!!

This is it in pre-stripe form...

...but it should have a nice pair of white bonnet stripes when I pick it up at 4.30! This is going to be a very long day at work!

flashing is a personal prefrence

New motor is looking sweet with those tints and bullet rims on pink

Are you bouncing with a permagrin yet? You have to bounce with excitement when a new delivery is imminent

Flashing can lead to issues at junctions so wave like mad and you might get the odd response from proper MINI owners...MINI2 stickers help too

I am indeed, I'm sat at my desk watching every minute go by! Just over three hours to go before I start cruising the streets looking for other mini's to flash!!

Everyone's right, she's looking great!

It's good to see that the modding's started even before you've picked her up, stripes are a great start. All you need to do is sort out some decent club runs and you'll be laughing

If there are none close by, come and see us in Cornwall!!!
