Offline | Parking Dents :o( I think I have always been pretty lucky where parking damage is concerned, I have never sustained any damage in 25 years of car ownership. I have always been one who parks in the far corner of any car park lol. Finally picked up a nice dent last Monday even though I parked well away from any other cars even more annoying as I'm trading in very soon. The dealer has already agreed a trade in price but will no doubt knock £70 off now to get the dent fixed up by a dent devil firm etc. The dent is a little smaller than a golf ball with no paint damage, very annoying and sticks out a mile when the rest of the car is immaculate.Have decided when I get my new car that anywhere I park in future I will take 2 parking spaces up if unable to park away from other cars. Anyone think this is selfish? or should I expect damage through sheer carelessness of others and take it on the chin like a man lol ? Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |

Offline | Don't think i would mention the damage to dealer or get it fixed as they may not notice! It is so annoying how people are so careless opening their doors and bashing your car! Probably is a bit selfish taking up two spaces though (tempting as it is!) |

Offline | sorry to hear about your damage. Happend three times to my cooper at the supermarket regardless of where I parked and my boyfriends cars, being seriously scratched down the passenger bumper on one occasion, where they basically scraped alongside it (company car so not bothered)My R56 has no dents as of yet, but it has been keyed twice now first on the boot now the passengers door, which requires full door respray not much change out of 250. When we went on holiday a People carrier opened their door onto boyfriends brand new BMW when he was stood next to him. No shame and no apology. Don't tell the dealer let them spot it and once they have the keys its their problem Alternatively park in mother and child spaces plenty of room (oh the controversy)I do all the time with my mum (I'm 20) but as Peter kay said where is the age limit!! ![]() |

Offline | I think I would wheel my heaving shopping trolley back into the supermarket if they told me that Luckily my local Morrisons has a strip of car park with no bay markings so I usually park there and never been questioned. This was at a posh hotel on a works seminar which surpised me when I got dinked as what cars I saw on the car park were mainly prestige, Audi's, Mercs etc so thought my little motor was fairly safe ![]() Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |

Offline | This probably isn't an issue over in your part of the world, but here in the States, anyone who takes up 2 parking spots is just asking for a bad key scraping and maybe a slashed tire. Americans are mean! ![]() |

Offline | Sorry about your paint damage there is only so much one can do, I think I would be boiling if it were malicious damage, where as this dent on the car was probably just an accident, someone with a suitcase or something as it's definitely not another car door.I never thought of mother and child spaces, theres a thought, or maybe get a disabled pass off e-bay and use a disabled bay ![]() Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | No it happens here as well. Parking across to parking spaces stands out like a sore thumb and it's asking for trouble. I've seen a car sat across two bays that was trashed. Dents in every panel. Snapped aerial, broken lights, the works. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

| Affinity to 1320 Autos | I had this with my last car... I parked up at a local supermarket but before I could get out another car parked in the bay beside me... This old boy then swings his door open which crashes into my door... I got out and had words with him and he said... "Sorry boy, got to lean on something"... I was totally speechless... Luckily he hadn't dented the door... a bit a T-Cut sorted it out... |

Offline | Hi, I think you're asking for trouble by parking across two bays and to be honest it's a pretty selfish thing to do. Problem is we live in a small country with tiny roads, lack of space and a culture that doesn't generally respect other people’s property. I always park dead centre in bays, keep even space in front and behind when on the street etc but have still had the odd ding here and there from people who are just lazy, stupid or a combination of both and bumper scrapes on several occasions from the bin men who are just careless *wats - dent busters or my detailing guy with a machine polisher have always sorted it perfectly (on Astro Black no less). It's very frustrating at times, but then again it's a car and unless you wrap it in cotton wool and never use it wear and tear will appear over time. If it really becomes unbearable move to LA - tons of room everywhere, you can drive garage to garage and even employ someone to wash and wax your baby as many days a week as you see fit ![]() Oh, it's always warm and sunny too.. Cheers, Geoff. |

| MINI2 Regular | Have you seen the Auto Express test report on the 207cc? It states that the steering is a little too light and feels nervous at speed. I think you are going to miss your s! Peugeot 207 CC Reviews | New Peugeot 207 | Peugeot 207 CC Car |

Offline | Hi Spamini, Yes I read the Auto express review and have trawled through all the others lol. I'm not sure you can compare the 207CC to the Cooper S, it's a different sort of car really. Obviously it's not as direct, or has the go cart feel as the MINI, but I didn't notice the steering to be especially light on the 207 and the handling is just as good as an MX5 I reckon. For me personally the S was great at weekends but I used to find the ride tiresome and too jiggly and fidgety for everyday use. No disrespect to R56 owners but I found the 207 to feel a little more sophisticated and more sturdy than the MINI in terms of build quality. The build quality is one the reasons why unfortunately I didn't go for the R56. Corsa VXR, Flame Red, 18" Alloys, S&L Pack |

Offline | Just to let everyone know you always seem to trade one damage for another. I've become a kerb hugger to avoid dents and have ended up with kerb'd white S-lites instead. As Elvis Costello said, "I can't stand up for falling down..." MINImeat B/W MCS |
