Stupid Question

Don't laugh, but can I turn the wing mirrors inwards when I'm parked up, so that no one clips them as they go past?

I tried turning them in, but they seemed so stiff that I didn't want force it any further!

Yes you can. (Sort of inwards and upwards).

Personally, I never did this as they're so wide I lived in the hope that people would avoid them, and therefore give the car a wide birth, rather than risk scraping the side of the car.

Just wrap your hand around the back of the mirror and pull them gently towards you. They'll pivot on their bases.
