spf - I think that was the problem my friend had when someone reversed into his car in the same car park, so its probably not worth even asking. I hope the damage to your car wasn't too bad...

I don't think it will cost much hopefully, just need to get round to sorting out a replacement chrome insert, but I've got Uni exams next week so I'm busy revising for those at the moment.....

James.

The very same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. Luckily, it happened in the parking lot where I work (university) and there were lots of witnesses so the person that did it had no choice but to fess up and claim responsibility. His insurance took care of the whole deal, but the damage came to over $2000.

I feel for you. Hope it gets sorted out quickly with minimal cost.

I was fearful of reversing into something when I drove my Mini away from the dealership...there was a £37k Z4 right behind me! Not something you want to see in your rear view mirror the first time you engage reverse in a new car!

Thanks mate, yeh it was gutting to see it damaged, atleast it doesnt need a new bumper

HaHa. I just work with them because its the nearest place to home which pays good money, and they have a transfer scheme, so its easy for me to get work in Liverpool in term-time and back here during summer. They arn't the best company, and some of their policies are so unlogical its untrue, plus most of the lower management are complete and utter jobsworths.

£6.02 an hour and £9.03 on Sundays for possibly one of the easiest jobs ever is hard to beat for a summer job round here though!!

James.

Hi James,

The damage was to my husband's kit car and they holed the fibre glass wheel arch which was really annoying as it needed filling and re-spraying.

Glad you don't think yours will cost too much and good luck with the exams!
Sharon.

No Video Surveillance?

I don't suppose you were parked anywhere covered by a security camera? If you were parked up at the Tesco, you migth get lucky.....in which case maybe they would be able to identify who did it.....

Good luck, anyway - it's a real bummer when careless ignorant halfwits do things like this (yes, my pride and joy got dinged too)

Thanks, revision is incredibly boring, I cleaned my car last night to avoid it, .

Sorry to hear about the damage to the kit car, was/is it a Caterham / Westfield type of car? I followed a yellow Westie the other day for abit, such cars.

Hi mate, It was in an NCP car park, and the cameras are not that great, I couldnt see any around my car. As others have said probably just had them covering the entrance and stairwells.....

Having said that even if they did have footage I wouldnt hold much confidence in getting a result, I say this because when a woman dented my dads car with a shopping trolley and drove off, even though we had the numberplate all the police did was ask the woman to contact us, she did, but we were out and she rang from a witheld number and never called back again. The Police then said they had done all they could and that we were baisically on our own So not much point in following this up for a little bit of trim

But I agree mate, its a shame people cant just be honest and own up to their mistakes, ahh well....

James.

The kit car was an AC Cobra replica in Nightfire Red with a cream roof. It was very smart - he sold it on sometime ago now as he moved jobs further away and it was his only car.

£6.02 an hour - is that for the 'experienced' rate, or whatever you guys call it?

I work or for M&S, so interesting to see what the comparison is - our 'normal' customer assistants get £5.85 (I think!)

Sounds pretty awesome!!

When we went on holiday to Devon last summer me and my bro drove in my car and we followed what I still think was an 'orginal' AC Cobra, it was an amazing car. The replica's are cool though, quite often see a blue and white one in my village when the weather is nice. It sounds amazing, and its virtually impossible to tell the difference.

Thats the rate you get when you have worked there for over one year, and are over the age of 18. To get a better wage now I would have to apply for a position such as team leader, but I cant be botherd to do that just for a summer job. Having no responsiblity and thus limited accountability suits me fine,

I think if you are over 18 but have done less than a years service the rate is similar to the M&S wage. Tesco also make you work there a year before they give you the staff discount card (a miserly 10% off)

James.

Yes we loved having the Cobra but it meant it always took you a while to get in the car as someone was waiting to ask about it

At the end of the day the practicalities of using it in snow / rain for longer journeys everyday meant it had to go.

I think if we ever won the lottery he would want a real one!!!!
