ok im curious its all well known fact that BMW is the only car maker to have its own dedicated testing centre at the ring and we all know bmw make the mini so with logic being applied the mini should have been developed and tuned / tested at the ring??????
BMW has it's own test center there since 1991, previously owned by a dealership named Willi Martini. BMW already started testing at the Ring in the early sixties. At the start the accommodation was used by BMW Motorsport.
This year a three year renovation and expansion has been completed. It now is the third official location of BMW M GmbH. The working area has been increased from 870 to 1178 square meters and from 5131 to 9000 cubic meters.
No doubt it also brings benefits for MINI.
It's also a fact that BMW has a Nürburgring simulator to test computer models before they actually drive on the Ring.
