Mine runs bang in the middle of the guage ('06 build supercharged MCS) and my old R50 MC did just the same. Both MIN's got up to operating temperature quickly and then stayed rock steady at that temperature.

We can count ourselves fortunate that our MINI's were some of the last made to actually include a temperature guage

My GP runs about dead centre most of the time but creeps up about 4mm in traffic on a warm day.

how long to get to operating temp

ok i think ifigured out-i was reading the guage the wrong way . but what changed is the car always went to middle very quickly-minute or 2 .now is moving to cold side(bottom right )where before it was going to wrds middle right away. so say in 80 degree weather how long should stay in cold position ?
