If it makes you feel any better, thank you very much for building my engine its an absolute peach of an engine. Have you started on any of the new energy saving engines yet?

Does BMW give you much feedback on how the new car is selling because some people on the site keep saying it is'nt selling well, judging by the fact they never told you making the engine of the year, maybe not?

Its doing pretty good considering we can keep up with demand and were always breaking records for how many cars were building per hour. There always making us faster but still have cars coming in so its doing pretty well. The R52 is slowly dyeing off now, which is a god send because they are the hardest engines to make.

I take you get a big bonus every time you break the cars per hour record Have you been with them since the Rover days?

Not not quite that long, im only a young nipper, ive seen alot though, the factory has changed beyond what it use to be and as for the bonus per record broken, ha! they expect even more. 51 engine per hour is the current target, let me tell you that is hard

You have to go to Brazil to make R52 engines, so no wonder its much harder

I have a friend that works at Bentley and they move round the factory on different jobs to keep it interesting, is that something BMW do?

True the 52 are made in Brazil but thats only the tiny engine, people forget the whole engine dress takes over an hour per engine.you've got the gear box, struts, brake discs, manifolds, oil, electrics, . there's a lot to do. with 46 people working on the. The 52 is tough.
No rotation of jobs im afraid, become a pro on your job and you normally get stuck with it. There are some nasty jobs out there. Clutch slave is a *****.
