Hi all,

At what mileage you did your Inspection II ? I think I've missed mine, here is my service history :

1. 17,808KM = Oil Service
2. 38,202KM = Inspection I
3. 57,264KM = Oil Service

I think the 3rd (57,264KM) service shd be Inspection II ? But in my Service Booklet, it stated Oil Service. I can't remember what the computer show during that time

but now the computer is showing 20,000+KM to go for Oil Change

If I really missed the Inspection II, do I bring back to BMW and ask them do it now or I wait till next service (still got 20,000+ KM to go) to do Inspection II (+ Oil Change) ? Or just skip it and pretend it never happen

Please advice. Thanks alot

If you took it to the dealer to get serviced then they should have carried out the correct service for the milage on the car, and corresponding to how many services it has recieved!

If they have only done an oil service but as you recall it should have been an inspection II then take it back and ask them to carry out the rest of the work that they should have done in the first place!

Also ask to see a print out of the details of the cars history and if that says it did have an inspection II done then it might just be a typing error in your service book. Then you will not no if the service was carried out correctly as its your word against theres as there records say it was done

The sequence of servicing in miles would be:

1st oil service - approx 10,000 miles
Inspection 1 - approx 25,000 miles
2nd oil service - approx 35,000 miles
Inspection 2 - approx 50,000 miles

Your car will have been due for the 2nd oil service so the work carried out was correct.. It's possible they just incorrectly reset the service indicator?

I've just had the same thing. My service history is:
Oil service - 12,000 (approx) miles
Inspection 1 - 32,000 (approx) miles
Oil service & Inspection 1 again - 52,000 (approx) miles.

The service engine went and queried the above with his manager but they decided to trust the computer in the end. The display is currently showing 12,000 miles to the next inspection service, I did have a brake fluid change as well in July 06.
