MINI2

Hi all,

Well what can I say I am new to mini2 and found my perfect mini recently a mini one convertible with everything I could possibly want aero kit, leather the list goes on (oh how excited I was

). However on looking into the car further I found it is located in Belfast

. Does anyone know how complex a process it is importing the car and the sort of duties that need to be paid?

Your not importing Belfast is in the uk go pick it up its that easy.Welcome to the site.

The car is on northen ireland plates though will this not be classed as an import as the plates will have to be changed.

It shouldnt, i work in northern ireland and my residence is in the north east (mainland) and its just like changing your plate to a personnalised plate! its not importing as NI is the UK!

Thanks for the help guys, mabye all is not so bad afterall. Just one quick one when it comes to resale would the car be worth less if it is from NI?

Surely its no different to it being over here?

I was reading on here the other day about someone who bought an S over here and took it back home to Ireland

Theres no difference in anythng at all in re-sale or bringing the car over hear! its just like buying the car from newcastle (NE) and taking it home to surry, the only difference is that you will have to register the car for a UK plate!

The DVLA will pick a Random number plate that is similar or contain the year of the car for example if its an 04 plate they could send something like NV"04" JKY.
