List of BMW mini approved garages?!

I'm assuming there must be one but i cant seem to find it. Admitidly i haven't looked all too hard. Only a few quick google searches and so on.

But i was after getting my BMW serviced at a decent cost and to a decent standard. So I'm wondering if there is a list of mini approved garages i could use in my area (Telford). Lohen is a tempting 40 min drive away although I'm not sure i have the funds just yet and i know i will get tempted by many other options they provide.

So.....any thoughts please?

Is there such a thing as a 'MINI Approved' garage?

Why would the want to advertise something that takes business, and money, away from their dealer network?

Are manufacturers allowed to monopolise it so that you HAVE to get your car serviced at their dealer network? As long as the work is done to manufacturers guidelines, can't you use any garage? Discuss......

Under Block Exemption Regulations manufacturers are obliged to honour warranties as long as the car has been serviced in accordance to their schedule and guidelines, using genuine/approved parts.

So basically, as long as an independent garage does the job properly, and is equipped with all the necessary gadgets and gizmos, you will have nothing to worry about.

The wording of all warranty policies is along the lines of if the customer chooses not to have the car serviced in this way they forfeit any warranty cover offered.

So, in short, no, manufacturers are not allowed to monopolise it.

Like others said, I dont think you'll find a list, and Im sure the dealers wont give you one if one does exist.
There is however a few websites that list some BMW service specialists that arent connected to dealerships (cant remember the address off hand).
I use a place in Solihull Birmingham that seems good. And they are about 100% cheaper than the dealership that i bought my mini from, like for like quotes. Also, as they are approved they can stamp service work in the log book, which is also useful.
