Mini Cherished - Vehicle History Certificate

I picked up my Cherished May 2004 MCS Works yesterday, and am now looking through the owners pack after a great day out driving and have a few questions for you knowlegable types.

My Mini Cherished Vehicle History Certificate has "Finance Data Check - There is outstanding finance on this vehicle". To me that doesn't look quite right. The Mini Cherished booklet states: "To make sure your car hasn't got any skeletons lurking in its closet, we checked it past. So you can be sure it hasn't been recorded as stolen or written-off, and has no outstanding finance agreements on it". I paid cash so it's not my Finance Agreement. Should I worry?

I've got the TLC Service Voucher Book, nothing has been stamped in it yet, and in the Service Book the only two items checked off are the pre-delivery check and an oil service on 08-09-05 when it had 11478 miles. The car just turned over 25000 miles yesterday so theoretically I should be taking it in for it's TLC 1st inspection service, but I know (assume) that the car was fully serviced as part of the Cherished checks. Should I leave it for a few thousand miles then take it in, or should the dealer have stamped the Service Book? The dealer I purchased from sold it new.

Oh yeah, and I found a nail in one of the run flats after driving it the five miles home from the dealer. Should I ask them to sort that??

Sorry for long post

Seems a bit strange but the service interval should be determined by the mileage indicator in the speedo. I don't think they will do the TLC service early - I know mine went in for its 25Kish service a month after I bought it via Cherished.

Sounds like you need to give them a call though about the finance thing.

The reason that those checks often show outstanding finance is that the dealer has finance on his stock. When the car is sold by him it is removed from his finance facility. For peace of mind you just need to ask him to run an updated report which should show no finance outstanding, as you paid cash.

^^^ Ditto, this happened when I bought my car. It disappeared not long after I'd picked it up.

^^^ Ask for an updated HPI Check and will all be in clear in a week or so

About your servicing, similar to mine as in the TLC has not been stamped, but Service book has. However mine is not due another service for 9k yet anyway
