Some Pics of my Cooper

The spot lights were successfully fitted today, thanks to those who answered my threads, all very appreciated. I thought it was about time I posted some pics of Jack with all the 'mods' in place. I say 'mods' but the spot lights have been the biggest one I think. There's the 3 spoke sport steering wheel, clear side repeaters, Mini Cooper valve caps and richbrook tax disk. So pretty minor in comparison to some, but I like them none the less!

Possible chrome interior, black calipers and aero side skirts when the bank balance allows! All comments welcome, would love to know what you all think.

Thanks very much,

James.

Looking good but just a quick bit of advice, put a tiny smear of grease onto valve caps then screw it on, this spreads it into thread. Had some caps on my cooper when i brought it and ended up having them broken off at tyre company as they had seized on.

Looking really good there I really like the steering wheel would be interested in changing mine - did you do that yourself or at a dealers? was it expensive to change?

Thanks very much Drew. It probably cost about £400 in total. If you currently have the 2 spoke you have to change the airbag too. So the wheel and airbag cost about £370 from my local dealer. They give a 10% discount if your mini is over 5 years old too! Not sure if they all do this though!?

I had it fitted by a guy I know who does servicing, mot's that sort of thing, the dealer wanted an hours labout at £75! You'll be able to take it anywhere to be done. There are people on here that have done it themselves, but there are issues with airbag lights, so thought I'd get a pro to do it!

So it is kinds pricey, but I love it! My old 2 spoke was very worn and shiny, think the new one makes a huge difference to the interior! Hope that helps! Any more questions just shout!

Cheers,

James.

It is addictive! Looking at your spec you have multi function too! This may change the price a bit, I did look at adding it when I got the 3 spoke but was serious £££! It also stated you had chrome aftermarket bits inside, what are they, the speedo rings etc?.. If so what ones did you get as I was thinking about getting some, but a bit worries about the quality/look.

Cheers,

James.

Hi James

I got the 28 piece Wellstar kit from mybeautifulmini.com. I am really pleased with the quality and they were very easy to fit. There were a few pieces i didnt want to use but buying the kit worked out cheaper than just getting the pieces i acually wanted.

It consists of chrome covers for the the speedo, air vents, hazard and dimmer switches and rev counter. Plus rings for the cup holders, gear lever surround, door handles and speaker surrounds.

I honestly cannot see any difference from the factory fit kit (which is also chrome plated plastic) and it really goes well against the anthracite dash.

You may even find the same kit cheaper on another site or ebay.

Drew

When the bank account allows I'll have to check it out!

Thanks again,
