Offline | Rasmussen MINI looks almost finished. Drove by this afternoon, and couldn't resist a second pass on the way home from the Bite. Earlier in the week the glass was half up. When I went by today, not only was the glass completely done, but construction fence and road cones were gone. Still looks like they have some work to do inside. Paint, floors, doors, etc..., but they did finally have a mini sign up in the window. Then again, they finally have a window to place it in. It looks like it's going to be a very narrow showroom. Any guesses as to how long before they open? 2-3 weeks by the looks of things, which still puts it barely under the wire for the summer target date. How far in advance will they receive vehicles, so they can prep them for the showroom? |

Offline | Well now the cars are inside. Three and a half at least. There's probably a bunch of small things that still need to be done, like literature racks and signs. For the most part however, it looks near complete. They also have a very well maintained or restored Mini in blue. If you're on the waiting list and still haven't seen one up close, you could always do some window shopping tomorrow. Wouldn't you know it. I'm out of town tomorrow. I didn't have a camera on me, so pictures will have to wait until next week. Electric blue is awesome in person, but then so are the other colors. Red/w IB/w are both spectacular colors. It's also nice to finally see yellow in person. Why can't MINI hire some professional photographers to shoot the pictures for the build your own part of the web site? Not only are the colors not accurate, they're not even close to the actual car. Cheers, Brant |
