Anybody ever rejected a Cherished MINI?

I've heard a few poeple having a lot of trouble with new MINIs, and then successfully rejecting them.

Would the same rules apply to a cherished MINI? Or would there have to be more things go wrong with it before anybody listened?

Don't know about MINI, but just about every main dealer in my area shifting mainstream cars offers a 30 day or so exchange deal on used cars.

That should be enough to decide whether you've purchased a lemon or not!

All Cherished MINIs come with a 30 Day/1,000 Miles exchange/refund guarantee...

MINI Promise
We've total confidence in every Cherished MINI. So much so, that if anything goes wrong in the first 30 days or 1,000 miles of your ownership (whichever is sooner) and we can't sort it out, you can exchange it or, if we can't arrange an appropriate exchange, we'll give you a refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.

...but other than that buyers of used cars are covered by the same legal rights as those of new cars.

Having similar problems atm, having loads of problems with my car 'ive had it about 3 months now and i've lost count the ammount of times its had to go into the garage, already its had a new box and clutch, twice for a squeeling alternator, once for a knocking once for a coolant housing replacement.

If anything else goes wrong i've been in contact with consumer direct, they said if anything else does infact go wrong that they will refer it to trading standards.

I rejected one foxy, after a few attempts to fix some problems I advised MINI UK that I had lost confidence in the car and felt rejection was the only option left open to me but I advised them I still had faith in the brand and that this was an isolated incident. I was then contacted by the supplying dealer who wanted to do all they could, the chesrished car went back and I was supplied with a brand new car, had to pay a small fee due to mileage accumilated.
Guess it depends on the circumstances.

I came within a few minutes of rejecting my MCS after owning it for only four hours. The Sales Manager agreed to the rejection but asked if there was anything he could do to change my mind, He is paying for my Inspection 2 service due in 3000 miles! Lots of problems since then but Sytner Leicester have been fantastic at getting them sorted!

I rejected a used Classic Mini once bought from a Rover dealer in Milton Keynes.

But then again it was dreadful, and the battery did literally explode as we were driving along, nearly causing a nasty accident, then a nasty incident when I opened the boot (rather stupidly) to see what the hell had happened!

I was going to add, it was a long hard battle, that involved going on local radio, and eventually turning up with the keys and log book at a corporate even they were sponsoring, and handing them all to him, in person, politely but firmly, explaining again the problems we'd had and the danger the car had caused us, while he was chatting to some executive looking people.

It was a real battle, but the dealer principle was what they call in professional circles a complete ******. Obviously we don't allow certain technical phrases on here for fear of children being exposed to legalese, so you'll have to fill in the stars.
