Yep we have Yaris's in the UK, although I have never seen one that wants to be a Mini yet. The one you saw sounds awful.

Saw yet another Swift Mini wanna be today, this time a white one with a check roof, and U shaped bonnet stripes.

I once saw a red Ford KA with a chequered flag roof and white bonnet stripes!

I've always thought the Yaris looked like a Ka copy - so I think the bonnet stripes were actually to copy the Kas Devilrat and funkychicken saw - a 2nd generation rather than direct copy on the MINI in my book.

Although it doesn't look at all like a MINI look at the obvious styling influences stolen by Ford on the upcoming Ford Flex. The floating roof with wraparound glass, roof available in body color,white,or silver, matching mirrors, chrome trim bar around the entire bottom of the glass. It is obvious in pictures, but even more so in person. I saw it at the NY auto show and just laughed.

Spotted a great one today, silver nissan micra, old style so pre 51 plate I think, silve body black roof and door pillers looked like a squash mini to the right and left rear side if you looked it at from a slight angle

there's a 107 with 2 stripes running up the middle near me
and i've seen a daewoo matiz with viper stripes.

i see a Fiesta Anniversary every day when i go home from work actually.

it just shows the influence the MINI design and styling has.

I do like the Scion xB's, I wish they brought them over to the UK!! Not in Mini stylings though , and I've seen a Yellow Fiesta ages back when they brought it out. Was bored one day and ended up going round dealerships...bleh!!

i like the fact you can customise the Scion's out of the factory like the MINI's... but it's a strange choice of car to allow customisations on !

Didn't know that? However saying it would be trying to copy, I think the Scion could look quite cool with chequers Now to avoid a backlash I'm going to go hide

Have seen it a couple of times around Tunbridge Wells and I saw it again today, that is a BMW 3 series compact, must be about 52 reg I think, black with Cooper style bonnet stripes running down the bonnet. The even go down the bonnet at slight angles if you know what I mean, like traditional bonnet stripes not the viper stripes. They are only on the bonnet and I don't think they go over the roof. Just looks a bit bizzare, not sure what look they were going for really!
