I saw it on MSN autos:

Strategic Vision (not quite shure who they are) announced the MINI Cooper Convertible as the quality winner in the converibles under $30,000 class. No surprise.

What was more interesting was the coupe won in the Small Specialty Under $25,000 class. From what I read on here, either MINI2 members are getting all the problem R56s, or all the other cars in the class are junk.

Discuss?

I think it's something along the lines of "if you have a problem with something you'll tell ten people, if you're happy you'll tell two" (or whatever!).

Yes, there's been a fair few problem R56s and these have been well reported on MINI 2 (the proverbial "telling ten people").But I also reckon there are many, many satisfied owners who don't have cause to complain on public forums.
