Offline | My MINI comes home tomorrow morning HI All My MINI gets delivered home to me tomorrow morning, before 10am alledgedly. He should be all fixed and polished by the nice repairer men. I have a loan car , it couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding though. I got overtaken by a mini-bus on a hill. So shaming , Ive been given a Fiesta 1.2 and its silver!!!!! it does, in its favour, have a heated windscreen. Wonderful with all the screen steaming due to the weather, the boot is massive too. I can't wait to be able to get up a hill faster than 20mph though.Only 14 hours to go and I'm sooooo excited about having Red back. Offline | HI Well, my MINI arrived back at just after 10.30 this morning. The rear quarter/window seal was all saggy as they had lost a clip. I wobbled it and it came off in my hand. Same seal, not even a new one. They had not replaced the bumper just cleaned and polished it. They said that they'd replaced the 'spoiler', I can't understand why as it wasn't damaged. They told me that the spoiler was the black bit at the bottom of the bumper!! The aeriel was missing and where it attaches there was a big broken hole. Well noticiable. I range Hastings who said that the repair was done to standards!! they'd repaired a stoved in rear quarter - not replaced it all The car is a bloody mess and its been sent back.I was so upset that I went off to the kitchen for a weep and got hubby to deal with stroppy cow on phone who seems to think that I know absolutly nothing about my car. I am bloody furious and the car is back at the repairers K C Auto's in Winsford (BTW). The lad who was delivering was a nice chappy and I still have the Ford Fiasco 1.2, Gods its slow. Do I have any legal recourse? I had to take the morning off work to not get my car back. I can't tell you how angry and upset I am. I'll keep you all posted when the insurance company or repair bods deign to contact me again. ![]() MM (`·.¸(`·. ¸ ¸.·´)¸.·´) «¨'¸Millie-Milou¸´¨» (¸.·´(¸.·´ `·.¸)`·.¸) |

Offline | update on the update Apparently the car should be back again soon. KC Auto's have ordered a new aeriel, and I'm assuming the aeriel fitting on thingy too and it should be fitted tomorrow. Ditto with the clippy things that hold the window/panel seals on. They've mended the rear quarter. I'm thinking that this is just shove a whole load of filler in, smooth over and spray. Only its a very slightly different colour. The paint guard thing wasn't mentioned at all and I couldn't see it in the paperwork. Hastings, the insurance co, is really annoyed with me as I gave the KC Auto's delivery chappy a copy of the BMW fixit schedule for my car and they think that I'm being funny with them. I'm not. Its just thats what BMW & M&M said that the car needed. Obviously KC don't think that but I have got the impression that fixing the car to standard is leaving no corner left uncut. This is only my opinion though. The KC Auto man is going to ring me tomorrow. Rest assured lovely MINI owners I am going to make sure that hubby is around when Red finally makes it home. Workshops (IMO) may feel that they can push women around but I wouldn't want to be the one to push my husband about, figureatively speaking. So fed up ![]() MM (`·.¸(`·. ¸ ¸.·´)¸.·´) «¨'¸Millie-Milou¸´¨» (¸.·´(¸.·´ `·.¸)`·.¸) |

Offline | Hi Have heard nothing from KC Auto's yet. 1.2 Fiesta is soooooooooooooo boring. Ken (other half) reckons that they are ordering bits in left right and centre as they've been caught out in a bodged repair. Hope so! Ken can ring them tomorrow for me. ![]() 6X therapist | Give your local trading standards people a bell and ask them to send someone along when you get it back. There is absolutely no reason why your car should not be in as good a condition as it was before it was damaged. If its not and the repairer cannot give guarantees that it can be put back to the condition it should be your insurance company would have to agree to get the work done somewhere else. It happened to me with a company in Worcester, took 3 attempts by the first lot, but the second bodyshop did a fantastic job, they repainted nearly half the car to get a the best possible match and replaced a whole panel that the first lot just hammered and filled before painting it. Stick to your guns ![]() |

Offline | Hi Red is back with me, he came home yesterday. ![]() We were a bit fed up that the bloke rang and wanted us to meet him about a mile away as he couldn't get his transporter truck under the railway bridge, I did suggest that he went along the A50 a bit further and came to the other end of our street but he didn't want too. Ho hum The boot is difficult to shut, we've noticed. I'll ring them tomorrow. I can't tell if the pain is a good match yet as its been raining mostly and the car lives in the drive, we don't have a garage. They've replaced the ariel for me - well, they broke it. Do you know, I could have sworn that I had a white ariel holder thingy, this one is black. I can't find a piccy though, the rain killed my lappy and my MINI pics were on it ![]() At least I have him home. Its great to drive a MINI again MM (`·.¸(`·. ¸ ¸.·´)¸.·´) «¨'¸Millie-Milou¸´¨» (¸.·´(¸.·´ `·.¸)`·.¸) |
