I just wanted to let everyone know that my MINI was delivered to me on Saturday evening. I've driven everybody about crazy with my rants during the shipping process, but as others have said before, it was all worth it as I'm driving along in my new beauty. BTW, I've ordered my new Virginia plates: HMS MINI HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY!!!

Thanks Terrance - we've traveled that long road together and it's very fitting that we got our MINIs on the same day! I didn't post sooner because I've been out motorin'!!

Although I picked up my MINI on Friday, today it came true, you know, what they say about motoring.
I woke to a clear sunny day with no particular plan and instead of sitting down to read the morning paper like any other day off, I picked up a road map and plotted the most challenging two lane roads I could find that would take me to a destination approx two hours away over roads I never use. My wife packed a picnic lunch and off we went. Staying within breakin limits we motored through up state New York over twisty roads with lots of elevation changes and boy it is true, this car just eats up the road, all those 25 mph curves are for everyone else now, the MINI handles them effortlessly at speed without a hint of lean or squeel of tires! We strayed from the plotted couse two times at spots where the road looked a little more challenging, but arrived in Cooperstown at noon time and had lunch by the lake. After taking in the sights we headed back home, but by a different route and ended up consulting the map a couple of times, but when the road didn't quite look right, I turned left where I normally would have turned right, and had a ball !! It's true what they say about motoring

I know!! Dang it, I really wanted to meet you. I got your note - thanks!! They were supposed to have my bonnet stripes installed, but didn't have time on Saturday.

Maybe we can get together at the next area MINI meet. I think it would be fun.
