| MINI2 Newbie | Extend TLC?? My TLC on my 52 plate JCW MSC is about to expire. I have received a letter from the dealers saying I can extend it for £300. I am planning on selling within the next year - do you think it would be worth paying out £300 now so I have the TLC when I sell and keep the full dealer service history? Your thoughts would be welcome. |

Offline | Dan is correct, you can purchase TLC XL at any point between now and when your next service is due. I just took mine out and just had the Inspection II service. At the end of the day, I wanted to keep the Full MINI service history on the car, so it was worth it. ![]() |

Offline | My quote was £550 ish for the 1st year of extended warranty, and that had a £100 excess on every claim made. My warranty expired yesterday - it has not been renewed. ![]() |

Offline | It can be purchased on any MINI up to a certain age / mileage at the moment. But, there doesn't seem to be any contractual obligation to hold that offer open, at that price, indefinitely Bear in mind that TLC XL for the R56 MINI has already gone up from £300 to around £380. I bought the TLC XL, when our MINI was only 3 months, to make sure I didn't lose out if the offer were to be withdrawn or the price were to go up for the R50/53 as well. ![]() May 08: Thanks to all of my friends on Mini2 for a lot of great times over the last 4 years. In future I can always be contacted here! |

![]() Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby... | I had a similar situation with my MC, having just had the last of the TLC services and wasn't sure how long i would keep the car for Thought it would be best to go for TLC XL as it would help the resale - i have also done alot more millage than previously thought so might need to have the services sooner |

Offline | I've been through the tlc and the tlcXL with my 2004 Cooper. It's certainly worth it; depending on your age/mileage, the XL should include the 1st Inspection Service and brake fluid change, which will not be less than £300! It will add to the resale value, anyway, by the cost of the outstanding services. As my car was over 100,000 before it reached 3 years, the extended warranty was not available... |
