| Live life to the Mini | Advice about selling needed Hi I have quite a modded mini which I think is GREAT , but then I would, but the finance is up on it soon so am looking at either selling or trading it in. As usual the trade in proce is ridiculously low and also they have said they will probably rip off most of the mods such as the graphics n stuff and because of all the mods I havn't got a clue wot price to sell it for I'd be open to any ideas:-I have attached some pics the only diff is the black grilles are now silver ![]() Last edited by SoggyCornFlakes : Aug 12th, 2007 at 09:01 PM. Offline | I am new to this site and Minis but as far as I a concerened you cannot blame any dealer for not giving the true value of your cars as the deallers cannot guarantee the aftermarket mods/bits and to sell it on they will have to remove the parts back to standard. Eithet take off the mods and sell them (to me) or sell the cars private, to get a decent price from someone that appreciates what you have done. |

Offline | As you say the dealers would have to guarantee the parts but i can only vouch for my MINI but as i have iluded to all parts are genuine JCW. so are covered by a warrenty. but your point is a valid one. thanks |

| Wanted an Audi | Hi Tracewhy You could add value by removing the stickers and putting on some OEM alloys, that poor poor MINI! It reminds me of that VW Golf TV add where the car is crying after the owner modified it. By doing the above it will appeal to more buyers. |

| Live life to the Mini | Thanks popey, I know its not to everyone's taste but then thats the whole point of a mini I think to make it unique.I am pretty sure it will sell as is if the London To Brighton is anything to go by as so many have said in the past they want to sell it. But thats my main point, do I add on for the graphics or do I detract money for the graphics. My local dealer offered me 15.5k for my car yesterday althoug I have seen MCSC on mini cherished for 18k so their offer as always seems low, do you agree? |

Offline | You can't access the value of a used car without knowing the mileage. The following FAQ lists sites where you can get a "base" valuation on your MINI: How can I find out how much my MINI is worth? While you may have a long list of mods you've done to your MINI, they may offer little added value. Some mods may even have to be removed to make the car more appealing to a larger number of private buyers. |

Offline | Hi, It will depend upon the year of registration but 15.5k sounds reasonable . . . I sold a 2004/54 Cooper Convertible for 13K 2 months ago. The dealer will base the price on whats is glass's guide less the price of any work that needs to be done to the car to sell if via mini cherished. So off go the graphics and the wheels, the cost of which will be factored into what they will sell the car for. It seems that the dealer will mark the car up by about 3-3.5k on what the purchase price was. Best of luck with the sale Paul; |

| Live life to the Mini | mmm decisions Well after lots of soul searching I decided not to sell just yet as I may be getting a company car with another job so I'll hold off for now. However, whoever said there is a newer version out, no there aint. The New MCSC is not out until at LEAST 2009 according to the Mini Factory, and then it will probably be delayed Launch dates always are - lolThanks for all your help everyone tho ![]() |
