My 2002 MINI Cooper and I have only hit 496,000 miles so far, but,
at roughly 1000 miles per week, we're looking forward to 500,000 soon.
Yes, MINIUSA did ask me some questions recently, and distributed my
answers to who knows where via The Internet. I didn't get a copy
myself till after my Dealer and a few friends congratulated me.
If you're interested, this link should take you directly to the interview.
But you'll need some patience; - I'm afraid I told the Author more
than she wanted to know.
Wow! How about that? I just logged on here to see if HWS had posted his mileage recently. I probably haven't been on in a year or more and was just thinking about high mileage MINIs when I thought i should check this thread out.
500,000. Wow.
Congratulations! may you have another half-million!! I'd better get driving if I'm going to beat you to 1 MILLION! I'll have to drive about 1600 miles per week just to tie you!

Well, it took 10 years and three weeks,
but my MINI just passed 1/2 Million Miles today!
I'd never put that many miles on any car before,
and never intended to put that many on this one.
But, it just kept going and going, -
so reliably and so enjoyably -
that I've never considered parting with it.
It was especially pretty and shiney 4 days ago as it
drove proudly with 9 other MINIs in a Parade
through The Wisconsin State Fair. But today,
when I saw that 5 and all those zeros,
I just had to take her picture - as she was -
with dust, rain streaks and all.
So, what's ahead for this 10 year old car,
her 86 year old owner, and his Bride of 9 months? No! - It wasn't that kind of Wedding!
We'll just keep Thankfully Trusting.
God's always been very good to us -
and He's not done yet!
Well done! You're an inspiration, not just for passing 500,000 but for giving us so many interesting stories and anecdotes. May God bless you (and your car) in the years ahead.
