I'm only at 191000 which I though was a lot until I had read this.

Silk Green Does Anyone Know How To . . .

. . . Update the Title of this thread?

Way back in 2007 when "AprilWhine" was inspired to start this thread,
she promised to include The Leader's Current Mileage in the thread's title.

She did for quite a while, - and Ive been in an out of that title a couple times
But, Alas - we've not heard from her for a long long time.

In the meantime, my 2002 MINI has kept going and going without any fussing.
We're now somewhat over 515,000 miles - it's Winter here - snow on roads -
Minus 8 Degrees F yesterday - the MINI always starts on first try -
still blows hot air - keeps my seat warm - and has never yet made me think
of trading her for anything else. She's been so easy & so much fun to live with!!

Sorry HWS, I am no longer a mod here and can not edit thread titles. But congrats on your half million miles!

Mike, thanks for calling me back. Glad to see HWS and his half million mile MINI!

So HWS you must be 87 years old now and still enjoying your MINI Cooper to clock up another 240,000 miles in 6 years.

So what have you replaced in 500k of MINI miles ?

I've got a 'carefully driven' 2002 MCS (R53) with 51k on the clocks - previous owner used it as a shopper but I drive it what it was made for!

Silk Green It's Hard to Keep The Story Exciting . . .

when this car just keeps doing what it's supposed to do . .
without a lot of attention or fanfare. It just keeps
going . . . and going. Even this photo is now
out of date as that odometer rolled silently past
521,000 miles yesterday.

I took the MINI back to International MINI of Milwaukee
for its 519,000 mile Inspection a couple weeks ago -
always nice people with whom to visit, - but, I went in
with no questions, no fears, no problems - and came out again
with no surprises. "You'll need tires in the not too distant
future (I knew that) - and there's an exhaust hanger bracket
that should probably be replaced someday when you have time."
(Apparently that original muffler still looked OK.)

So, that's how things are with me and my MINI. My 87th year -
our 1.5 year 'honeymoon' - our life together in our new house
are all a constant joy - and we're Appropriately Thankful Every Day!
Wishing you all the same!!
