[Tigger, Eeyore & Roo]

On Monday 27th of August the Guiness World Record was beaten as The North Devon MINI Register achieved 310 Minis/MINIs in a continuous convoy over at least 2 miles on public roads.

At the last count the event had raised over £8000 for the Childrens Hospice South West.

Whilst it was over 95% Classic Minis, a couple of dozen modern MINI's joined in (and helped nudge the number over the 300 mark!); we were all made to feel very welcome

PS: They're planning on beating the record again next August and we're definitely going again. Who else is up for it?!

But that's a very good effort and great deal of money raised.

One heck of a difficult thing to photograph as a convoy But, I have added a picture on the first post of most of us at a lunch stop on Sunday after our first attempt at the record on Sunday morning....

The logistics were amazing; we had 30 motorcycle outriders blocking junctions and directing traffic, but it still took several attempts to get 310 together for 2 miles without a single car pushing in!

The support from the public (and the police) was fantastic to see.

Well done all in Devon. I was on the Donington parade so at least I was a record holder for three weeks!!!

We got 271 on the track and beat the Derek Woodman record by two. I believe that MINIChallenge are going to try for the record again sometime next year at a venue to decided.

Tigger - Random question but did you spray your reflector US style wheel arches or did you get rid of them? Just noticed that you had these in your signiture before the respray.

I'll pass on going to Beijing for the next Olympics though and wait for London 2012.
I'm not a fan of the smog in the Chinese capital.

It's just a trick of the light in the photo, the wheel arches were only the standard UK ones
