Offline | That's painful. ![]() You're still invited for bar-b-que if you come to the States and I'll even let you use the indoor plumbing... ...but I might just hold back on the good beer. Are you married, Rec? You seem tense. The love of a good woman will cure that (or will often also cause it...). Another sidebar: Did you ever see a Mini at the last minute --- the driver is waving to you and you missed the return wave... You feel guilty all day about it. Safety fast, Bill |

Offline | Buying the cow and becoming dual-income produce more disposable revenue for mods.... I know a nice girl; she's got her own R56, is a school teacher, and is thinking of taking a teaching position in England. Resembles a younger Jodie Foster. Just let me know, Rec. We're stepping out in a few moments to motor in the mountains ---- I'm going to be a passenger in my wife's R53. She wants coaching on shift points. What a gal! ![]() And I'll be sure to wave. Safety fast, Bill |

| Are we nearly there yet? | I still wave, but if they don't reply then I just feel sorry for them - they are either blind, or not proper MINI drivers. There are a couple of other MINI owners I see regularly (both young, attractive and female, as it happens) who ALWAYS wave back ![]() In fact, one of them was also at MINI United 2007, but I didn't actually meet her there Ian No R57D until 2010? |

Offline | After driving my 57 Dooper for the first time this morning, I kept my eyes peeled for fellow Mini drivers. Passed 3 or 4 going opposite direction, and my impression is everyone checks out your car and who is driving. No waves though I promise to wave back, if anyone waves at me ![]() |

Offline | I always wave but more and more these days there are fewer people who wave back :-( I have a question which I don't know if it has been asked before: Do you have a preferred hand that you wave ? I know it will also depend on which side of the road you are driving. Let's keep the answers to "door side" or "gearshift side" I use my "door side" hand If you know how many MINIs you have you don't have enough ... |

Offline | If I am driving one handed, as I usually do with my arm on the armrest, I will wave with my "gearshift" hand. When driving with both hands, I would wave with my "door side" hand! Thanks Bezza, I shall keep my eyes peeled for you - great choice of car colour by the way. |

| MINI2 Newbie | I give the thumbs up! I rarely get it back though. my mates are really serious about it, they'll only wave at fellow stripy minis. if they have driving lights they wont wave unless the other mini has driving lights. I feel really bad if someone waves at me and i dont have time to wave back though! ![]() |
