Well?

I believe it was something old mini drivers did (that's old minis, not old drivers

) and was just wondering whether new mini drivers still do. I've been driving my mini since May and can't say I've ever noticed another mini driver wave at me and I've not waved at anyone else either!

Yeah I have a feeling that would happen to me .. just wave and get a look back thinking "what the ****?"

If the MINI's have stripe/vipers and other decals they tend to wave back though

I fully intend to wave when my be-striped DS/W MCS arrives next month. In the Scooby everyone waved/flashed/chatted at the pumps (back in '99 at least). Attempts at waving in the Compact only ever attracted blank stares or open hostility, yet it was a far more niche vehicle than the Impreza.

I wave.
If they don't wave back, I make a U-turn and chase them down. I follow them.
When they get out of their car, I knock them down, stand on their throat, and wave until they wave back.
It's worked so far.

Nice one. I must try to find some time to do that.

I have noticed more people are waving ony my daily commute now. Guess its because I continued to wave at them all the time, even when they dont wave.

I wave (everyone used to wave back when MINIs weren't that common) and Shawn laughs at me but I'm trying to force them to wave back. I enjoy waving/playing with MINIs it makes a drive more exciting!

Now that I'm out of hospital, I wave all the time....

Seriously, if you love your car and all MINI's as much as I do, and believe they are a completely different experience from any other car, it's impossible not to wave or flash or something...

So why are you part of this website if we aren't instantly friendly just because we own the same brand of car? Why would you meet a bunch of people who own the same car in a car park for a MINI run? Is that kinda lame? Its just an extention of the love we have for our cars and other peoples cars!

driving with a load of MINI's owned by people within an online community and waving at complete strangers just because the car is the same make are vastly different aspects.

Fair enough. I always treat them like they are members on here as I don't recognise everyones cars and shrug if they aren't interested. Its like walking past a friend on the street and not saying hello.

well, not really. you wouldn't randomly wave at someone with the same shoes as you unless you knew them.

i always wave, but rarely do i get waves back the past few weeks...
have seen lots of mini coopers lately on route 20 in ny the past two weeks and very few waves...
