Offline | Problems with PL...Scrogg? Hi guys. Well ive tried e-mailing mini customer service....but got no response! Ive got my mini booked in to try and fix a whole load of 'little' problems. But i have a fealing they are going to argue that there not waranty issues.....can anyone shed some light on any of them for me? Ive tried searching, but with no luck! The list.... Door window seals – causing stripy front windows Exhaust Rattle Diagnosed by Stapleton's when doing tyres as exhaust trim being loose, please look at. (Dealer fitted accessory) Seems to have stopped, please look at anyway. Is still loose. Fix centre of dash not correctly re-assembled after speedo was removed. Now has gaps, intermittent rattles and two screw holes in it. “whine” from drive belt end of engine. attempted fix last time, please look at again. 'Whistle' or ''fast tick” from drivers side foot well area. Noise obvious from inside car when cruising on motorway etc. Only evident from 50mph+ but stops when clutch is dipped. Returns when clutch is released. Noise seem to relate to engine speed rather than road speed. Suspected gearbox whine? “rattle” from drivers door sounds like its around the door handle area. More evident on bumpy roads, possibly something loose within the door? “rattle” / “buzz” from low on passenger door Buzz seems to emanate from around the main speaker ring at the bottom of the door. If the door trim and speaker ring are held firm the buzz stops. Buzz only caused when music is on, at reasonably high volume. Air-conditioning 1) When air conditioning is used, makes a very odd 'hissing' noise from passenger side, behind glove box. Never used to do this. Very annoying noise! 2) Seems to cause a 'whining' noise from engine, and causes it to 'stumble' when progressing through the revs. Noise most obvious as revs get higher, while 'stumbling' most obvious at lower revs. (Will demo to engineer) 3) Smells shortly after AC is switched off. This was looked at on 'inspection 1' but has returned again already. Front indicator side repeaters Seem to leek, there is a green sludge built up in the bottom and looks ugly on a car this new. Please change under warranty. Thanks guys Neil ![]() |

Offline | Mines got a few probs as well, including squeaking clutch, which they tell me requires replacement. They say they can't tell me if its under warrenty unless they strip out gearbox to look at it, and if its not covered by warrenty them someone will have to pay the 4 hpur labour charge for this. I just hope that they agree to cover it as I only bought the car 3 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure there must be some law saying that they must repair it as it was like it when I purchased the car from them? Its already been in to them twice on seperate issues which were wrong when I purchased it. |

Offline | We had the door window seals on both doors replaced under warranty on our previous Cooper because of streaks on the glass - the dealers just replaced them with no prompting so its definitely covered by the warranty and a common problem too. |

Offline | I guess all you can do is ask them. Ours was covered by the MINI new car warranty. Just to clarify, these streaks were on the inside of the windows - a greasy deposit that was difficult to clean off and clearly was coming from inside the door. |

Offline | Hey Cobby Park Lane. Sorry to hear of your mini problems. I had half of them on my MCS! Plus a few other niggles! After endless visits to 2 MINI dealerships (i gave up with my local one as they were just a bunch of clowns) I lost all faith with my MCS and my MINI dealerships. Unfortunately I gave up the fight and sold my MCS this weekend! It may be the case that we are just the minority of cases with gremlins in our MINI's? You should be able to get all the things you have issues with sorted under warranty-it's just a case of patience, time to and from the dealership to sort the problems. I also found sending emails useless and you should telephone Mini Uk and speak to your area manager. I've bought myself a little japanese hatch back for everyday and I still have my classic Mini Cooper (which proved more reliable than my MCS) for the weekends! Hope you get your issues sorted. An ex-MCS owner! R |
