Offline | Hi there! Well I just finalised the order of my Mini on Saturday....and I am so so so so excited!!!!! I got a Mellow Yellow Mini One and am already trying to find a yellow case for my ipod to go with the car ![]() I was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice (please excuse my lack of knowledge!) - I was thinking about getting a dual stripe down the middle of the car, or possibly a roof decal, would you advise getting this done by professionals or doing it myself? I currently live in Bournemouth in the South of England so does anyone know of anywhere near there which does this sort of thing? And my final question is...are there any tips you have for me as a new Mini driver? Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Offline | ....Welcome to the Crazy MINI world. my advice....wave at other MINI drivers-even if they ignore you, park miles away from other cars in a carpark-aim to park next to another MINI if possible.... and enjoy EVERY SECOND of driving your new baby...plus he/she must have a name!! Plus get yourself on some MINI runs and make friends!!...... check out my sig for a not to missed MINI run in 2008!! Offline | Welcome friend, I've only been a MINI owner for a month or so, so also a newbie ![]() I'd say get the decals on the roof, or bonnet done proffessionally, I had mine done at the dealership and they look ace, I doubt I'd be able to have done it anywhere near as well. I managed to get the dealership to do chuck in the stripes free of charge when I bought the car so it was at no cost to me However they are probably very expensive compared to others so have a look around. I've heard MINI Pirate are very good, and I may be wrong, but I think they come out to you too. Give them a ring I guess, I'm not sure where they are based.Cheers Mike |

Offline | Welcome to MINI2! I'm new here too, and have just bought a brand new MINI! They are such a fantastic and cool car! Get the bonnet strips done professionally, preferably by the dealership -that way they will be perfect. As regards Viper stripes? I'm not a huge fan of those. I got my dealership to put the stripes on my car so that they look exactly the same as those on the Cooper. Take a look at my car here to see what you think... http://www.mini2.com/galleries/showgallery.php?cat=2651 Under all of those optional extras it's a MINI ONE! ![]() |

Offline | thanks for all the advice and the welcome everyone! I rang up the mini dealer in Bournemouth and they wanted to charge £330 for the viper stripes....I thought that was a bit expensive!! As for whether to go for the Viper stripes or not mini&mercguy, it just depends on how I feel when I actually see the car - as I haven't got it yet and won't see it till Sat night! Awesome car by the way! looks cool! The bonnet stripes and chequered roof could look really cool as you guys say though. I will keep you posted as to what I decide. Thanks again! ps I will be waving to all mini drivers....so be aware! |

Offline | hey again everyone, apologies for not being on in so so long! Moved into a new house and finally got the internet sorted! Well i've got to say i'm having so much fun with my mini, it's awesome. Not one other mini driver has flashed or waved at me though, which is disappointing! ![]() I am really pleased with the colour and am thinking of leaving the bonnet stripes for a while because a. I can't afford it and b. I really like the look of it atm! I have a question though, what car wash/polish products would you advise using? I got the protective coating on it, but i've forgotten what it's called - should I wash it differently because of this? Once again thanks! ![]() |
