Starting later today the royal mail are having yet more strikes.
Royal mail say a service will still be operating but they will be giving priority to Special delivery.
Therefore newministuff will offer a free upgrade to special delivery from standard for all orders over the next few days

Its a bloddy nightmare
The royal mail stated they would get special deliveries through hence me upgrading all my parcels.
Now I am told none are getting through as the LIVERPOOL sorting office is on an extra wildcat strike over and above the national strike Its just this sort of thing that gets Liverpool people a bad name. It is seriously damaging businesses
The Goverment own it so why don't they step in?

Today I am going to try taking our parcels to a Lancashire post office to try & bypass the Liverpool sorting office

We have a city link account & have been sending a few by them but this is more expensive, however - I have just received a letter from them stating that they now have a minimum invoice charge of £50 + vat so if I send 1 parcel 1 day they will charge me £50 !!!. I have tried several other couriers but can't even get them interested enough to quote me

Worked out that we have seen a 80% reduction in orders since this started

Are you not invoiced monthly? Surely they mean that there is a minimum of £50 a month, not a day - that would be rediculous! We use city link and we often send out just one or two parcels a day.

You could always set up a courier service as a side line

They were trying to go through the courts to stop the action happening today, we have not been sent notification here in work that there will be disrupts to our service so I presume it's the Liverpool sorting office that are causing your woes...

Its the Liverpool sorting office thats the problem
When the national dispute is on , managers are dealing with special delivery.
BUT nothing is getting through Liverpool, they are not even collecting from the post offices which are now shoulder deep in parcels.
Am off into Lancashire later

i know where i work, there is loads of backlog mail and if you sending anything or receiving by standard parcel you have a long wait and for normal packets you are waiting at least a week.

Yep seriously annoying! Especially when think you have ordered take 2 weeks to arrive and seem to take longer than things sent 24hrs earlier! What are they doing?? sidelining all the post from during the strike and slowly putting it back in?
