Offline | The customer wants an AUTO so the "S" is out of the question. Finds the cooper suspension to hard, so the cooper is out of the question. The customer is 70 odd and likes a smooth ride!!! , sooo only ONE option. |

Offline | No I 'm afraid the Cooper has firmer suspension, but majority of Coopers have sports susoension plus which makes it even firmer. MINI ones tend to wallo and roll like they on the ocean going round bends where with MINI cooper will hardly roll which is one of the reasons it makes you smile. ![]() |

Offline | Sorry, that's nonesense ![]() My ONE is very flat and firm going round corners, roundabouts etc. Maybe it's got Cooper suspension by mistake Ken. Last edited by Paul : Sep 9th, 2002 at 02:22 PM. |

Offline | i agree with the last comment, my one doesnt seem to roll at all and the overall height of the vehicle is exactly the same as a standard cooper!! its only the sports suspension/+ which makes the difference i think, and even then its marginal surely? Hold on, ive got a plan!! |

Offline | A well peddled MINI ONE will keep up (if not pass) a cooper any day. Coopers only develop the extra 25 bhp at the top end, ie >5000rpm. MINI ONE'S have more grunt lower down, plus if u chip em you can increase the output by 67% ![]() |

| Test thread infiltrator | Easy lads... A standard ONE is never going to beat a standard cooper... it has the same grunt lower down but lacks the oomph (all technical terms) above 4,500 rpm... When I test drove a one, I thought it didn't roll much round the corners and I bought the cooper. When I was given a ONE as a courtesy car, it definitely seemed to wallow. It still cornered very well though... But come on... you could never justify a ONE being quicker than a cooper... Dom |

Offline | errr did I miss something as i thought the discussion was about suspension another thing that should be taken into consideration is the fact most MINI one dont have sports seats{which keeps your body firmly attached to the seat} which would make the body roll more noticeable than one with. ![]() |

Offline | small thing from superchips will do the job, circa £350 inc fitted. Check out their website. Ok so slight exaggeration, in a straight line no contest, but on twisty stuff the difference is marginal. ![]() |
