United-Kingdom New cherish MCS

After a break of 18months without a Mini, I,m hopefully collecting a 54 plate MCS this friday.....if its ready
Due to a better than expected part exchange price on my festa, I,ve the option of spending around £500 on one of two choices - either spot lights (dealer has quoted £390), or a customer licence plate (lots to choose from MC54xxx) for £399.
What do you think?

spotlights and more stuff - spotlights should only be about half of that

I'll second that.

You can get the spotlights far cheaper than that, leaving you more money to spend on other stuff

Spending the money on a 'personalised' 54 plate is a waste, as it's still a 54 plate and doesn't look personalised

original oem spots are about £125 and the same for fitting - which as by your post I am assuming you need to spend it at that dealer. y=Thats the sort of price you should be paying - any more than that and you need to haggle- fitting is about a 90 minutes job - hence the price.

Well the dealer said it was a time cosuming job, hence the price. I paid £300 from a different branch to have them fitted to my 1st MCS three years ago. If there's other Mini dealers who will fit them cheaper, I,d like to know about it! Does the job include any programming, ie, can they be fitted by yours truely?
Looking at some instructions on min2 and it looks a lot of work! I was hoping to just be able to tap into the high beam cable?
