Question Used Mini Cooper S - Realistic?

I'll be in the market for a used Mini Cooper S in the next couple of months.
My budget is £9,000. Realistically what do you think I can expect for my cash?

I was kinda hoping for a 52/03/53 cooper S, with Chilli pack.

obviously, the newer the better? How much do you think I'd need to spend to get the 170bhp rather than the 163, they changed around 04 plate, am I right?

Your thoughts please?

I'm hoping the launch of the new mini will end the artifically held high price in the dealerships and that will cacscade down to private sellers too.

The one thing I'd make sure that you do if you buy privately is to get a full check done on the car so you know its history such as any finance or accidents that it might have been in, so you don't end up with any surprises later on

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?
