Offline | Factory Visit Ok all a short tale for you all. As per my previous posts I ordered a DS/B Cooper S on the 10th September and was told it would be going into build in week 42. I came home thinking mmm it would be nice if I could go to the factory and see how they are built. So I email the plant and wait a few days, I get a mail back saying sorry we are fully booked please try again in November for a January 2008 visit.... I was a little disappointed so I mailed them back saying thanks etc however it would be have been good to possibly see my Cooper S going through the plant, as my build week is week 42. I have just received a mail from Oxford.Plant-Tours@disappointed.com saying they have a space for me on Thursday afternoon would I like to attend? Needless to say off I go on Thursday to see it in the flesh. I know there is no chance of me seeing my MCS being built but it is still going to be a great MINI Adventure. Any tips etc from anyone that has been would be good. WD ps: Sorry for the rant but ever since I placed the order I have been a bit of a child. ![]() |

| This space aint long enou | I had a private factory tour on the 21st of Sept. It was absolutely fantastic. I was like the kids from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in there. It was the highlight of my recent trip to the UK. I had John as the guide, he was fabulous, he's worked at the plant most of his life and is very passionate and proud to be apart of Factory. It is sooooo amazing watching the robotics do their stuff and then to see the shiny little bodies snake their way through assembly getting all their bits bolted on is just superb! You really do appreciate how many different configurations can be made! Have a great time their and congrats on getting your new MINI. |

Offline | Hi Dollie Yes anyone can go just drop them an email. You have to be patient waiting for the reply though. You should get a mail back with dates etc. However if they are busy you might have to wait for an opening. WD |

| Back in a first gen. | Factory tours are fantastic, Ive done four now and each time it gets better. When I went in October 2004 my previous Cooper was on the production line somewhere but I didn't have a build number, so didn't get to see it (if in fact was there on that day). |
