Canada Should I go Standard or Steptronic (Automatic)?

Hey All!

I was a former mini owner, and was sad to have to sell her a couple years back when baby #2 came.

But I am going to be looking at getting back into a mini when the new clubman is released in Canada!

My question is:

Should I go Standard or Automatic (Steptronic)?

I am a Realtor in Calgary, and do a lot of driving along with GPS, cell phone (hands free of course). Therefore I would like to be able to have my hands free and not have to worry about standard. I also really like steptronic, and the ability to use the paddles for shifting on the wheel when I want to. It almost seems like the best of both worlds to me
However, I don't want to make my mini less desireable for when I sell it either!

What is your opinion? Does an automatic HURT the resale of a mini? Is it worth going automatic?

Thanks for your ideas and opinions!

P.S. - Some of you may be thinking, "Realtor? Why would you buy a mini?". That is exactly why I want a clubman, more space - and appeal to my clients. I plan on putting a wrap on it and using it for advertising, as well as for the odd time I take clients for a tour.

If you're considering Auto, then so will a potential 2nd hand buyer. Go with what you feel happy with.

Welcome to Mini2

I have had 2 auto Minis now and have to say I was happy with them both.

But......my next one will be manual. That is only due to me wanting manual again!
